About the event
Catfiddle Street is a unique, human-scaled infill residential development tucked into a mid-block location in downtown Charleston. The dense, though low-scale, site design includes 24 residential lots on just under an acre of land. This creative approach to architecture and urban form is a refreshing antidote to the residential development that we see around Charleston today; typically in the form of sprawling tract homes or “Texas doughnut”-style multi-family monoliths, which are completely out of scale with Charleston’s historic character.
Join us for a tour of this incredible, under-the-radar collection of traditional buildings that feels like a medieval Italian hill town transported to the Lowcountry. Our guides will be the passionate architects and urbanists who made this vision a reality through pure grit and a dedication to craftmanship and durability.
